The Hidden Dangers of Ignoring a Dripping Faucet
Plumbing issues are a part of every homeowner's experience, but not every problem needs a costly professional fix. From clogged drains to running toilets, many common plumbing problems can be handled with a few tools and basic know-how
Leaky Faucets
Worn washers or cartridges often cause drips. Shut off water, disassemble faucet, and replace damaged parts.
Slow Drains
Soap, hair, and grease build up over time. Clear blockages using a plunger, drain snake, or natural solution like baking soda and vinegar.
Running Toilet
Check the flapper inside the tank. Replace if it’s warped or worn to stop continuous running.
Low Water Pressure
Mineral deposits in aerators or showerheads reduce flow. Soak in vinegar or replace to restore pressure.
Leaky Pipes
Temporary fixes include pipe clamps or epoxy putty. Permanent solution usually requires replacing the affected section.
Water Heater Problems
No hot water? Check thermostat, pilot light, or flush the tank to remove sediment.
Jammed Garbage Disposal
Press the reset button or use an Allen wrench in the bottom socket to clear jams.
Slow Tub Drain
Remove stopper and clear hair or soap debris with a drain stick or snake.
Toilet Doesn’t Flush Properly
Check water level, flapper, and handle chain; adjust or replace faulty parts.
Sewer Smells
Dry traps or cracked seals can emit odors. Pour water into unused drains and inspect wax seals around toilets.
