What to Expect During a Plumbing Inspection
Plumbing issues are a part of every homeowner's experience, but not every problem needs a costly professional fix. From clogged drains to running toilets, many common plumbing problems can be handled with a few tools and basic know-how
Dripping Faucets
Leaky faucets usually result from worn washers or cartridges. Turn off the water and replace damaged parts.
Clogged Drains
Hair, grease, and soap blockages are common. Clear them with a plunger, snake, or baking soda-vinegar mix.
Running Toilet
A faulty flapper or chain can cause continuous water flow. Inspect and replace if necessary.
Low Water Pressure
Check aerators and showerheads for mineral buildup. Clean or replace to restore proper flow.
Leaky Pipes
Temporary fixes like epoxy or clamps work, but replacing the damaged section is ideal.
Water Heater Problems
No hot water? Inspect thermostat, pilot light, or flush tank to remove sediment buildup.
Jammed Garbage Disposal
Use the reset button or an Allen wrench to clear jams manually.
Slow Tub Drain
Soap and hair can clog tubs. Remove the stopper and clear debris with a drain stick or snake.
Toilet Doesn’t Flush Properly
Adjust water level, flapper, or chain for proper flushing.
Sewer Smells
Dry traps or cracked seals may release odors. Pour water into unused drains and check wax seals.
